Lessons on Chinese Business Culture

WHY STUDY BUSINESS CULTURE?

China is not only the most populous county in the world but it also is one of the largest emerging markets. It is the world’s third largest economy in terms of purchasing power and has become a global competitor for such resources as oil, coal, concrete, and steel among others.

China’s economy (GDP) has grown at over 9% annually since Deng Xiaoping’s  ‘Opening to the Outside World’ policies began in 1978.

China is a country of unique and complex etiquette and ceremonies and understanding Chinese business, culture and ethics is paramount for anyone wishing to participate successfully in China today.

The goal of this module is to provide tools, techniques and information important for becoming culturally informed negotiators and participants when interacting within a Chinese context.
